16th Intergulf 2015 – Bahrain

Oct 15 – 17, 2015

Newsletter Number 1

Eid is approaching and so are holidays for some (including me), so we thought we would drop you a line before you head off on a break.

To date we have 126 registered hashers for InterGulf   There are a few who have yet to pay.  So please contact STTI on to make arrangements if you haven’t already done so.

Keep looking at the InterGulf page on

If you have any questions, please email

STTI –   or Rick O’Shay –

Those who would like to book an apartment in Hala Plaza, Juffair should contact Spank the Turkey on    It would be great if you do some planning with others you want to stay with and perhaps share the 2 bedroom apartments.

At the Airport

Please check out your Bahrain visa requirements before coming in.  The British and Irish have an option for a single entry or multi entry, and there are conditions for the multi entry.   You pay for your visa at the immigration desk and they accept a wide variety of currencies.

There is duty free just past immigration just in case you think that the bucket of booze we will be giving you isn’t enough.

Bahrain now has Uber.  And it is quite cheap from the airport to Juffair with Uber – about 3-4 BD.  Speedy motors are another good choice (slightly dearer) 1768 2999 (ph)

Pub Crawl Thursday

8PM start from British CLub.  The Pub crawl will be around the Adliya and Um Al Hassam areas.   Trail will be marked.  We will be giving you some vouchers for drinks but not sure how many as yet.   Depends how much money we have left.    So bring a few BD with you.  They will all be cheap bars with beers around 1.2 BD.  You will get a bit of food on route after pub 2.

It is a pub Crawl, so no running.

Friday Hash and Party

Around 2PM:  Buses will be collecting people from Juffair and back of the British Club.  Depending on numbers, we shall collect people from other areas eg Amwaj and Saar.  But if numbers are too low then we’ll see you at the other locations.  Please advise us if you have any special pickup requirements and we’ll see what we can do.

We welcome guest RAs to help with the circle.

You will be out ALL day, so bring your gear for the party with you.  Buses will be around and are secure to leave things in.

7 PM Party.   We will bus you from the Hash site, post circle, to the Bahrain Yacht Club.   There is a beach and a pool – so you can swim if you want to – bring your swimmers.   Buffet dinner will be served from 7:30 PM.  Drink as much beer, wine, softies and water as you can – its all included.  Dance the night away to some tunes of our DJ.

Hash Acts.  Please let us know if you want to put on a Hash act –  (be mindful that we are in a club and need to respect the locals so no nudity)

2-6 PM – Brunch in Ric’s Kountry Kitchen. included is a food buffet and as much beer, wine softies as you can drink.  Bring your dancing shoes as we’ll have some music playing to help the food go down and see if the drinks are working.
